Hello Spark Zen readers! As I type this post, it’s 5:30 AM. I’m perched on a loveseat in a cozy room at the Open Hearth Inn in Trenton, ME. The morning sun is slanting through an open window and a cool breeze is ruffling the lace curtain. Last night, a rain storm finally broke the stifling humidity of the last few days.
My spouse and I arrived in the gorgeous state of Maine in the late afternoon on Tuesday. Neither one of us has ever been here before. Tanya’s a Rolfer and wanted to take an anatomy workshop being offered in Walpole, ME. So we decided to make a vacation out of it. And so far, it’s just been extraordinarily exhilarating!
We spent Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning exploring the streets, sights, and restaurants of the amazing city of Portland. I wish I had discovered this place earlier in my life because I would definitely consider relocating! The food was delectable, the people super friendly, the city walkable, and the community palpable.
After eating some scrumptious oysters and lobster rolls at Eventide restaurant on Thursday, we drove up route 1 to Bath, a small coastal town that’s steeped in maritime history. Then we drove through the drizzling rain to Camden, which we both fell in love with. Because more rain was expected we only lingered in these towns for a couple of hours. Then we hit the road again and arrived in Trenton, ME, about 8 miles from Acadia National Park on Thursday evening.
We spent Friday and Saturday exploring the stunningly gorgeous park: hiking through the piney forests, traversing granite ridges, summiting Cadillac and Pemetic mountains, and strolling past sparkling ponds. Below are some photos from our hikes thus far. I have to run as Tanya is patiently waiting for me to finish this post so we can continue our adventure. More words to come later! Bowing from Maine!
What an incredible get-away! Thanks for the lovely photos.
Beautiful nature shots, thanks so much for sharing
