Happy first Monday of the New Year! We don’t have to wait for a certain date to begin anew. Our Zen practice can infuse each moment with wonder, stillness, and acceptance. Please share some ways you bring “zazen mind” to everyday activities.
Like a diet of the mind, we can choose to not Indulge our thoughts when we are out and about but remain present with others and our environment. Simply noticing our breath and letting go of “I” will help us be part of each moment.
Thanks, Henry. This is a wonderful practice. Noticing when the discursive mind is chatting away and returning our attention (sati-remembering) to the physicality of the present moment: where is the breath in the body, where are my hands and my feet. Thanks for sharing.
Time stands still as a hummingbird perches on a thread of a branch outside the second floor window.
